About this index

Finding an outing worth doing in the Alps means opening ten sites. This index reads them for you, keeps the facts (grade, length, where it is), and sends you to the page that has the full topo. It is a search index, not a guidebook: we point at sources, we never replace them.

It starts with via ferratas in France and Switzerland. Rock climbs, alpine routes and ski tours come next.

How a route is ranked

Routes are ordered by our own signal mix: how many independent sources describe it, how many trip reports were logged on Camptocamp in the last year, and whether we hold a map line for it. We never copy anybody's star ratings or "top 10" lists.

Site owners: opt out, correct, or send us a feed

We crawl politely (one request per second or slower, identified user agent, robots.txt respected) and index only what a search engine would. If you run a site we index and want a page removed, a fact corrected, or would rather give us a structured feed, email victor.grau.serrat@gmail.com. Removal requests are honoured within a week.

Safety

Grades and lengths are copied from the sources named on each page and can be wrong or out of date. Routes close for rockfall, works and nesting birds. Check the source page and the local tourist office before you go.
